Key elements of the Quality Circle

Know the elements:

  • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis):  Identify potential failures in a process or product before they occur, as well as their consequences.
  • Control Plan: Define how processes will be controlled to ensure quality.
  • Control guidelines – Instructions – SPC (Statistical Process Control): They establish statistical instructions and controls to monitor and ensure the quality of the process.
  • Resource Management: The resources, instruments, equipment and machinery necessary to carry out quality control.
  • BI (Business Intelligence): It feeds on data and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for decision-making. Dashboards with aggregated data are the main reason for digitising all data sources, also generating significant savings.
  • Planner, launcher, or sequencer: Tools that help operators use the appropriate control guideline in each case and complete certain attributes without making mistakes.
  • Non Conformity Alert: Alerts generated when there are indications of deviations in critical dimensions outside tolerance, so that a supervisor can determine whether they are minor, major or derogable.
  • Non Conformity: A situation in which a product or process fails to meet established quality standards, resulting in a “Non Conformity.”
  • Problem Solving (8D, 5W, Ishikawa): Methodologies for identifying and solving quality problems.
  • Audits: Systematic checks to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • CAPA Actions (Corrective and Preventive Actions):  Actions taken to correct existing problems (corrective) and prevent future problems (preventive).
  • Continuous Improvement (PDCA, Kaizen, Lean):  Ongoing focus on optimising processes and products.
  • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning):  Planning process that ensures customer requirements are met from the early stages of product development.
  • HR (Human Resources): Staff training is crucial for quality. Kapture Academy offers a wide range of training courses.
  • Quality Costs: Include the costs associated with failure prevention, as well as the detection and correction of errors identified on the shop floor, during material reception, or at the customer site.
  • Matrix Competences: Identifies the necessary competences for each job place.
