The Control Plan is a methodology documented in the APQP manual to minimize variation in product manufacturing. There are three types of plans: the prototype plan, the pre-series plan and the production plan. An example is shown below:

For its use in plant, the Control Plan is transferred to the control guides that are in the workstations. Whether among these control guides prevails set-ups, machines, instrumentation or materials and components, the automatic data collection will speed up the processes exponentially, reducing time while also improving the quality.

From incoming to final controls, quality walls and residents, the different processes summarized in the Control Plan can be defined, executed, and analyzed in the Quality Control module of Kapture.IO
Through configuration options, not developments nor customizations, KaptureIO is able to digitalize a wide diversity of control guides, from visual to dimensional controls and vision machines. For instance, in an intuitive way, there are check options from Boolean to Cosmetic, pictures can be added to the instructions and standardized corporate headers can be defined.
Ensuring Compliance
The digital gathering of data and standardization on a platform speeds up reaction times, through alarms and notifications, and allows real-time monitoring of the result of the controls, as well as their follow up through the display of the Control Plan Activity. Moreover, this new view shows the actual activity of each of the control guidelines and proves the performance and/or lack of activity.
One of the most critical aspects in quality control is to ensure the execution of the control guidelines according to the established frequencies, and both visual aids and notifications in case of deviations are crucial.

In former times, the management of the Control Plan was made through excel documents and it was hard to analyze the aggregate data in order to make decisions. Therefore, the digital management of the Control Plan, as well as the online execution of its controls, is a necessary step on the road to Proactive and Intelligent Quality.
